IPWeb3 registers a digital file on the blockchain (Polygon). It records the file's SHA-256 fingerprint together with the date, and issues a PDF certificate with a QR code and a public verification page. The record shows that this exact file existed on that date and has not changed since. The file itself is never uploaded to the blockchain, only its fingerprint. Permanent file storage is optional. You do not need a crypto wallet or any blockchain knowledge, IPWeb3 manages that for you.

It is dated, tamper-evident evidence that you held this exact file on this date. Anyone can check it without IPWeb3: compute the file's SHA-256, compare it with the certificate, and look up the record on a public blockchain explorer. The proof still works if IPWeb3 shuts down.
It is not a copyright or trademark registration. Copyright arises automatically when you create an original work; formal registration is done with an IP office, and IPWeb3 can help file with EUIPO and IP Australia. The proof does not show that you personally created the work, only that you held it on that date. It does not override an earlier claim from someone who can show they had the work first.
Every IPWeb3 record carries an electronic timestamp under eIDAS (Regulation (EU) No 910/2014). Under eIDAS an electronic timestamp cannot be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence in the EU only because it is electronic. The EU Legal certificate ($31) adds a qualified timestamp under Article 42, issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trusted List, which carries a legal presumption of accuracy in all 27 EU member states. Only the EU Legal certificate carries the qualified timestamp. IPWeb3 is a customer of a listed provider; it is not an EU institution and is not itself EU-certified. In 2025 the Court of Marseille accepted blockchain timestamping as evidence of copyright ownership.
